Plastic portafilter which is non-negotiable for me. It was nice to see that the steam pipe is made of metal, which promises a possible formation of microfoam. The instructions affixed to the top of the machine clearly state that the machine only uses finer ground coffee and no espresso powder. I wanted to save money but I need to look for other options.
