I bought this to teach my rescue dog to worry about the cage, make a dark place for him to be comfortable and sleep, but it didn't work and not only did he chew everything through the velcro, he caused a mess of condensation inside. The entire lid was soaked with moisture, as was the bottom around the box, dripping with sweat. It wasn't urine, it was sweat that had nowhere to go because the cover was covered in vinyl to make it waterproof, which doesn't really make much sense. This cover is great and will definitely work in some situations, but as a full blackout option for dogs who are worried about the crate, it's not the best option unless you open windows/vents, which then does the purpose of the blackout nullifies.
