The trailer has to move at an angle and the child may need help to hitch the trailer at first.

It was a New Year's gift for my grandson. He loves trailers and tow trucks. Was so excited when I opened it but just before the hitch broke on one and the dump truck broke on the first night I was let down. Maybe a slightly heavier plastic could have been used in stressed areas. He loved her, wanted to try gluing on clutches, nothing to do with a stupid truck. Children are strict with toys, so it's understandable that this can happen. I am still happy with my purchase
