I have been using Canon for many years. my old scanner, my camera, my printers. I like Canon because no matter how long my product warranty is out, whenever I have a problem I email Canon Technical Support and they reply without asking you for any money. died so I searched for canon all in one. I also only use regular ink so I made sure the generic ink was made for the model before purchasing. I hated this printer when it was plugged in. Plug it in via USB (the plug hole is VERY HARD TO FIND and plug in the cable.) Also, the printer didn't have a touchscreen like my last Pixma. It has arrows on it that you have to press. Also, you had to (I thought) constantly change the paper size whenever you needed it by pressing the damn buttons. I emailed Canon to tell them the machine sucks and they told me to install the software. and now when I want to print, I open it and print from the program, choose the size, etc. The same goes for the scan data set. very quiet. The photos print darker than what I see on screen so now I know I need to lighten the photo before printing, it's also very quiet. I recently printed about 20 large 8x10 prints and all ink tanks are only half used. This is a powerful printer.
