Quality not good, 20A fuse blown in 12V socket

I had a slow valve stem leak on my winter tire setup on my Chrysler 300 so I was glad to get something to use in the car could keep so I put it on I don't get stranded if I need to take a portable tank somewhere to fill up so I can go back and fill up my tire or call AAA. The quality seems a bit cheap here and there. The compressor itself is excellent, runs fairly quietly and does its job well. The battery clips are very thin metal, feel very cheap and the protective plastic grommets over the handles are VERY easy to slip off. I first tried this with an easily accessible 12V cigarette lighter socket on my car's center console. . Following the letter's instructions it seemed to work fine, but after it reached pressure and turned itself off, the display went blank and I couldn't turn it back on. It turned out that the 20A fuse in the 12V socket had blown, cutting off that socket and the 12V supply in my center console. I didn't have time to run out and get another fuse right away, so I packed my stuff and waited a few days before trying again. This time I connected it. for my car, which is in the trunk next to the spare wheel. Not very comfortable, but seemed to work much better this time. I bled both rear tires a bit, but the tire pressure readings on the supercharger weren't showing very consistently. I couldn't reach the front wheels when it was connected to the battery in the trunk, so I reconnected it to the terminals near the underhood fuse box. Everything seemed to be working fine there, so that was good. Overall, in my opinion, the quality could have been much better, but that's not really surprising given the price. If I wanted to improve anything it would be better battery terminals than a blown 20A fuse (the manual says you need to make sure you have a 15A or larger fuse and that there is a 15A fuse in the power cord located (probably, but which never failed), check in the step-by-step guide what each side of the power button does, it's better not to use / colors in the guide because it's eye-torture I assumed that 1 power button was the led and 2 was the compressor not true this is clearer in the numbered spec in the manual but it would be helpful to have it directly in the instructions overall this seems to work pretty well in some scenarios and i find it a valuable tool but not sure about the build quality and there is a lot of room for improvement.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
