Spikes can be problematic

I didn't quite understand how this was built. I thought the knobbed surface was a prefix. It's not like this. This is the other side of a flat surface. A screw goes through the middle of the handle into which the shock plate is screwed. It can be flipped over like a coin, flat or pointed side down. This means if you want to use a flat surface, the spikes need to be facing up. And because there isn't a large flange at the base of the handle, the spikes make contact with the hand. Now I understand that you shouldn't hit the meat with a sledgehammer and the spikes aren't sharp like needles, but this should be taken into account when choosing this product over others. It seems to be quite durable. The handle could be a little bigger. The nut holding the center bolt in the grip is rusted AF. These are all minor issues and should not be returned.
