Review on Bulova B1514 Asheville Mantel Clock: Elegant Brown Cherry Design + Superior Timekeeping by Matt Reid

This was supposed to be my wife's birthday present. If I didn't have a soldering iron and could repair this "colorful superlative" I would have sent it back immediately, but my wife was delighted with the look. As you can see from the photos, the internal parts have come loose from the inner surface and the bottom speaker has broken off. For the price of this watch, it's not worth it at all. The movement is made from cheap Chinese plastic found at Walmart for $19.95, and the bells are tinny and very loud. Anyone who thinks they are getting a quality product with a name like Bulova is wrong when it comes to this mantel clock. There is one redeeming part, the quality of the wood construction, which I would give 3.5 stars. I thought the packaging was good, but I don't know how the box was handled in transit. And as always, Revain was delivered within two days.
