If you're a professional photographer, you can probably ignore this review. But then you probably won't think about buying this lens anyway as you're buying a good L series, but if like me you just have a good Canon Digital Rebel (or equivalent) camera and enjoy the good shots, this lens might suit you very well. I took over 1000 shots in a few weeks and it worked as expected. For the price, it's ideal for an all-purpose lens. A few highlights. Okay, that's not the best picture quality. Even at low/mid ISO it appears a bit grainy and not as sharp as some of Canon's more expensive lenses. In the room with him bad, If you don't have a good flash, but for shooting outdoors in good light, it works very well. Of course it would be nice to have a good L-series with IS, but if you can't afford it then this is a very good value lens. Not for true pros, but great if you don't take things too seriously and just want a little more scaling - and let's face it, who doesn't want more scaling!
