Unlike flimsy cold snack containers, these are sturdy containers like hot snack or take-out containers. They are clear so you can easily see what you have. The lids fit well but are easy to remove. The containers themselves are very heat resistant and can be used in the microwave. The lids can warp easily in the microwave or when storing very hot food, but will still work. (They just don't stack that well.) I usually carry lunches like soup and chilli in them and haven't had any issues with them leaking. They are strong enough to open them, you need strong pressure. I've only occasionally gotten take out heavy soup containers that were sturdier than these (with more heat resistant lids) but they are very good. For the price I'm very happy with it. We received medium sized containers and were very happy to replace all of our random yogurt and sour cream containers with mismatched and ill fitting lids. We will be buying larger and smaller sizes so we only have one type of lid for everything.
