Review on Premium Cabin Air Filter with Activated Carbon for Toyota, Lexus, Scion - Kootek CF10285/CP285 Replacement by Jose Brunson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

23 folds. Firmly. Fits good. Highly recommended. 30% more wrinkles than FRAM.

Ideal for Toyota Avalon 2016 (Dual Zone Air Conditioning). Most likely ideal for Toyota Avalons 2013-2018. The Toyota equivalent filter costs about $36. I've seen stores wanting to charge $50 for a 5 minute install through the glove box. 23 pleats, about 1mm lateral spacing, fits front to back perfectly. Very durable. In comparison, the frame I had was $23.99 with activated carbon, had 15 folds, and literally curled up in my hands just holding it by a corner. This is a far superior product compared to Fram FreshBreeze, Fram should really be aware of the availability of this product and improve their offering. FRAM and divided by $15 (the price of a similar FRAM product on Revain) resulting in $1 per fold. This Kootek has 23 pleats and costs about $6.50 per filter, which means each pleat costs $0.28 per pleat, which is less than 1/3 the cost per pleat of FRAM filters. I change the cabin filter when the air conditioning smells musty or after 12 months. There were many small plants and trees in the filter that I took out. I don't know how this will last as this review was written after installation but the effect of looking like this compared to the twice the price fram prompted a review. I expect this to take a year, if not I will update the review.
