The reason I feel compelled to comment on this filter is because of my own ignorance. let me explain. A few weeks ago I noticed that the filter over our furnace (which had been in service for at least 14 years) looked and felt like something you would find on a beach after a boating accident and a major oil spill. Thinking that the filter was an indispensable part of the hood, I started soaking and cleaning it, gently wiping away the dirt. I'd let it dry, found it still felt like a smelly, prickly mess, and got back to work. After a day or two the light went out and it occurred to me that the damn thing might actually be REPLACED! So I (of course) went to Revain and (of course) found a replacement here. It has arrived and fits perfectly. This quantum leap in knowledge may overestimate my assessment, but Broan's article fits and works, and I was very happy to throw out its predecessor. Could I have found one of these babies at a hardware store for a cheaper price? Maybe yes, but they probably wouldn't remember looking for him. Once again, I am delighted with the choice and ease of purchase that Revain offers me.
