These grommets worked out perfectly. They are made of plastic, but look so much like metal that nobody would notice. They were super easy to use too. You just trace a circle with the included guide, cut it out, and snap the front and back of the grommet together. The instructions said that you had to have at least a 4" header, but mine was 3" and worked out just fine with plenty of room above and below the grommet. Just keep in mind when figuring out your curtain width and the spacing of the grommets that when they are threaded on a curtain rod, it does affect the width of the curtain quite a bit. I made that mistake with the first curtain I made. My window was 35" wide, so I bought 44" fabric, left the selvedge on and just hemmed an inch on each side (two 1/2" turns). Then I used 6 grommets and guess what! Once I hung the curtain on the rod, it would only expand to about 34 1/2". I was so mad! But, lesson learned. Either use less grommets or get wider fabric!
