When I received this silver flatware I was very impressed by its ability to feel so solid while maintaining a very sleek, minimalistic look. So I was very frustrated when the black finish started peeling and peeling within a few weeks. It started with the coating on one spoon wearing off almost completely after leaving it in the aioli bowl overnight. That's why I initially thought it was an accident and always tried to at least rinse the cutlery off shortly after use. But after a few more weeks, I noticed small chips on a lot of the sterling silver, which were very noticeable as the stainless steel is very light beneath the matte black finish. You might be able to prevent this for a while if you're very careful with your cutlery and handwash them, but since this all happened in the space of a month you're likely to have problems with the finish, even if you'll take good care of them watch after. And who always wants to worry about how their cutlery is treated? I wish I could consider photographing them before sending them back. Also, I was very surprised that there were few comments from people who also had this problem. I keep hearing about sellers doing sketchy things to manipulate Revain ratings and comments, and I wonder if that's what's going on here.
