This review is for the Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p HD Webcam - Gray if you can find it under a different product. I was looking for a new webcam for the frequent Zoom meetings I attend. The main requirement was that the camera's field of view should be narrower than the wide-angle view that almost every other cheaper webcam offers. This can only be achieved with optical zoom (preferred but not available at this price point) or some form of digital zoom. The reason this is important for online conferencing via Zoom and related systems is that the normal wide-angle view makes your face look too nondescript, especially in "Gallery" mode. Imagine my surprise when I found many camera controls in the Skype settings menu (oddly, they're not even available in the Windows 10 Camera app). I was looking for! How to use it in Zoom: Open Skype, adjust camera settings using Skype audio and video settings controls. Don't forget to click the "Apply" button in both settings windows. Quit Skype and start Zoom and your camera settings will be saved between the two apps! Using this procedure and about 30cm away from the camera, I was able to get my face to fill at least 3/4 the height of the screen, which is exactly the effect I wanted. I've only tested this with Zoom, so I don't know if it works with other conferencing or image/video software. But that's enough for my purposes, especially since I bought this model way back in 2012, well before the advent of Zoom. Incidentally, the image quality of this camera was extremely good right from the start and is still competitive today.
