Probably for video calls with grandma so she can see your studio.

Tell me what kind of 'studio' would want their camera to refocus so often during recording? sharp and blurry for a few seconds Thank you for the unprofessional, distracting footage in the middle of my shot. Sometimes I have to do a shamanic voodoo rain dance just to get him to focus on me again and not on a particularly interesting speck of dust. The only "pros" for something in this price range are the rubber cap to protect the lens and the ability to attach it to something rather than just…

  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Looks like the camera has issues

Revain delivered well. However, the camera bothers me. I've only used it two or three times, but I've already noticed a potential problem. When using a zoom camera (that's why I bought it) I noticed that the image, my image, alternates between too light and too dark on the screen. My light source was a lamp that worked perfectly and didn't change at all. I just sat in front of the computer and didn't move. The image on the screen was constantly changing - normal, light, dark, normal, etc. This…

Not compatible with Windows 10

I bought this to support Zoom and Temas calls and I thought I did my due diligence. While the camera appears "normal", I think there are some caveats. *1080p support is misleading as most people will likely buy it for Zoom or Teams calling. The camera can only support 720p as a webcam. 1080p is only supported when using a camera to record video. * Apparently the camera comes with Studio software that allows you to fine-tune the image quality and provide other features BUT - this software is not

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

This is a great camera for general webcam use and a decent camera for what I use it for. Skype and YawCam programs. You don't need the software that comes with this camera at all. It supports popular 35mm uncompressed formats and also supports 720p and 1080p in MJPEG format which is supported by Video4Linux2 as well as most Windows video capture programs. There are two things I would like to improve: 1. Every now and then it loses auto focus and tries again to find the right depth of field…

  • Pleasant

Works great with Windows 10, settings can be configured via Skype!

This review is for the Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p HD Webcam - Gray if you can find it under a different product. I was looking for a new webcam for the frequent Zoom meetings I attend. The main requirement was that the camera's field of view should be narrower than the wide-angle view that almost every other cheaper webcam offers. This can only be achieved with optical zoom (preferred but not available at this price point) or some form of digital zoom. The reason this is important for…

Pros
  • Hands-Free
Cons
  • Very Expensive
