update: was 5 stars now 4 we bought a second travel rig and it died tonight. Or rather, he became a walking dead without sending a signal and a blue indicator that couldn't go out. I hope it was just a little bad wire, but I'm not that excited now. I have 2TB on an 8TB hard drive and this machine reads everything! I don't know what others write about cleaning forwards or backwards, it's very simple. Subtitles are also easy to turn on and off. You can also control the TV using the remote control (only 5 buttons, I've mapped them to Power, Volume +/-, Channel + and Input). Blame! Universal remote control! Now we can take the player and HD on a journey, and that's our entire library! I bought this unit because our Smart TV accidentally turned off while reading 8TB HD. The problem is solved. I was thinking of a Raspberry Pi 4 as our home/street theater device, but this one is so easy to set up, navigate and use that I just can't justify the extra money and time messing around with the Pi. We're planning to buy a second travel device (as well as a portable HD) to skip a few unplug and pack steps, but that seems too decadent!
