I was having intermittent starting on an older Nissan Maxima and this ignition switch and cylinder block fixed the problem. I later learned that on old Nissans the reason is that the "T-shaped" protrusion on the key cylinder no longer fits tightly into the ignition switch slot. Therefore, if you pick up the key when starting, you can still start it with worn parts. I'm glad I fixed it with a new part, but apparently you can also do a ghetto repair by adding a thin washer to tighten the connection between the lock barrel and the ignition switch. If you are a backyard mechanic, you can search the internet for "nissan ignition switch tape trick”. Seat (just don't use the tilt steering mechanism once you've done this. I won't mention how I know that.). You now have easy access to the grub screws. Using a thin fiber cutting wheel on my Dremel, I cut the notches in each stud in under a minute. They could then be unscrewed very easily with a standard slotted screwdriver. Please.
