I was having intermittent starting on an older Nissan Maxima and this ignition switch and cylinder block fixed the problem. I later learned that on old Nissans the reason is that the "T-shaped" protrusion on the key cylinder no longer fits tightly into the ignition switch slot. Therefore, if you pick up the key when starting, you can still start it with worn parts.
