I installed this item about two weeks ago. I cannot yet confirm the durability and strength of this product. I originally wanted to use the "suction" installation process, but didn't like the fact that it was a little high for my liking and partially obscured the peripheral view of the windshield. .I didn't want to use it on air conditioners where another product damaged the vent due to bad experience in the past. But this item is very easy to install on the vent without putting too much stress on the vent. Mounting on the air vent allows for a lower position of the phone. I love the "gravity" feature as all you have to do is place your phone in the holder and the mechanics of the holder will automatically lock the phone in place.
