Review on πŸ”ͺ KYOKU 3.5" Paring Knife - Shogun Series - Japanese VG10 Steel Core Damascus Blade - with Protective Sheath & Travel Case by Jim Booth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Like a real handmade knife at the price of a standard knife.

First impression: wow! I'm not new to good knives. I'm a bit of a nerd and my EDC is Benchmade 940-1 and I also taught my son cutlery (his EDC is Damascus and carbon fiber Civivi Elementum, a gift from me) if anything. mean nothing to you I decided to replace my old Henkels paring knife, bought this Kyoku paring knife and unboxed it with my son. We were both very impressed. I was expecting the factory edge to be less sharp based on some reviews, but no, it doesn't need honing or finishing. It's a powerful, heavy little blade, and the G-10 is exquisitely beautiful and very ergonomic. It's great for the money and I'll definitely be buying more knives from this line! It's a Chinese product, but it's the absolute marvel of the product you're probably reading this review about, whether you're an iPhone user or an Android user. It's not the best damascus blade I own, but it's still pretty good and there's no noticeable cost savings on quality here, just a great addition to my collection and I look forward to using it every day.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Fading
