Not for everyone, but if it is, the value is unmatched. I love it.

When it comes to value for money I really don't think you can beat it. For the price you get a very fast lens that feels really good. I have it on xt3 and had no motivation to take it off. This lens is not for everyone. If you need an autofocus lens with electronics or one that will be recognized when you plug a photo into your light room, don't buy this lens. Buy this lens if you enjoy the camera's manual focusing process and don't mind slowing down or holding your subject a little still. If you're willing to do multiple episodes and get one shot where you hit focus, you might need that too. I have great indoor photos of my 3 year old daughter and it gets easier with practice. The lens is well made and lightweight. Unless you plan on shooting wide open, I recommend considering the Fuji 50mm f2. I've been shooting it wide open and it works. Be prepared to correct wide open for chromatic aberration and I would also try to avoid shooting in the sun. I love this lens and would pay a little more if I had to.

Pros
  • Large aperture: The 0.95 aperture is great for shooting indoors, under low light and overcast skies. The equivalent focal length of 35mm is about 50mm. This can provide the perfect depth balance for portrait shots.
Cons
  • No performance
