Review on TP-Link Deco X60: Ultimate Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi3-Pack with WiFi 6 AX3000 by Paul Ziegler

Works very well with a gigabit ethernet backbone and a little tweaking

Highly recommend this solution if you intend to connect Decos over gigabit ethernet. High speed combined with gigabit internet service. However, don't expect to just plug in your devices and get started. If your router is a DHCP server, you'll want to configure Decos as an access point - this means you need to go into the advanced settings and select an access point as the operating mode (it would be better if this was part of the initial setup process). since I've been wondering for some time why the link behaves strangely). When I first set up and connected I was a little concerned that all my Decos were communicating over the WiFi backhaul and ignoring the gigabit backhaul. The speed in this mode was quite slow, which made me wonder how well the wireless backhaul works when the devices are spread across different points with no fixed connection. I was looking through the FAQ to find the settings to override and use Ethernet when I noticed an FAQ entry stating that Decos don't support DLink Gigabit switches (my switch was DLink - I had no luck). Apparently the only solution suggested was not to use DLink. Long story short, I replaced my gigabit switch with a Netgear and everything works surprisingly well now. that it reconnects to a nearby device (there's a soft-switch mode in the advanced settings that warns that older devices can be corrupted, so I didn't try). Please note that the Deco app is not updated in real time and you may need to go to the main dashboard and back to the device to see if your phone is communicating with the correct device. Once you've confirmed that each device is running at full bandwidth, you're done.
