So I've been using this brand of eyelets for many years. I mainly use them in Renaissance costumes for lacing bodices and the like. I've always liked these grommets because they don't split the metal on the back, they look good on either side, and they don't tear the tape. I recently ordered replacement grommet packs for the suit and am very saddened that traditional tools have made the metal they use to make these gram notes cheaper which causes the metal to splinter when you hammer them in. . Of the 20 grommets I put in this suit, 14 came loose. It's only disappointing because I thought I could trust their quality. I will definitely try other brands afterwards but not sure if there are better ones. As you can see in my photo the bushings on the left have split leaving jagged metal edges that will rip my tape. The right one didn't break.
