Micrometer measurement of slot size is 0.265" and spigot size is 0.234". With glue or putty, it's impossible to make such a big mistake. The last thing you need is visible on the front of your closet. That's the difference between a $20 Rail and Stile club and a $100 club. In some cases you get what you paid for. Send it back and only buy good ones.
