I needed a flat fan to transform my office. The room used to be closed to the courtyard, and we converted it into a living space, but the ceiling was low and sloping (like in the old houses we were attached to). The old fan and light combo was hanging at around 17-18 which was really getting in the way. I bought this one on purpose because it was only 8-9 in low and smaller fan diameter. The room is about 200 square meters and so far this fan moves the air really well. He is calm and graceful. We didn't need a backlit fan as we installed hidden lights on both sides. We had to do a little Southern engineering to let it hang flat while staying flush. My craftsman built this little wooden fixture and painted it to blend in with the subtle.
