Review on Li SUN Digitizer Replacement Adhesive Without Tablet Replacement Parts by Bob Candfield

Best screen on Revain for 6th gen but tools are ridiculous

I installed ten different touch screens from a 2nd generation iPad on this one. A few comments on this. I went with the more expensive kit (40 vs 25) because of the wire ribbon design. When assembling the iPad screen, it makes a big difference. Remember that before removing the adhesive from the wire tape, be sure to remove the inner screen protector. What does it mean to do it last. The wire tape doesn't seem to clean the edge of the case but it does when folded and firmly taped to the back of the LCD. Looking at the glue it looks like it only has 3 edges. This is deceptive, the left and right sides look like 1 because they are next to each other. Each piece is a long edge and 1 corner. You need to be extra careful with the home button ribbon cable as you will need to reuse it with this kit. Unlike the new locking connection used by the touchscreen and LCD, the home button cable still uses the old locking connection found on older devices. All connectors are located under the plate that holds the LCD connector. The kit includes an additional 3m of adhesive which I used to reattach the home button bracket. I also installed the home button bracket into the frame and then resealed the screen to align the bracket properly. If you take a risk with the last sealing, it could interfere with the frame. Good luck and a good sharp razor to remove all the old glue. Be careful with antennas. They cut easily and in the uncompressed state just above the edge of the frame. About a bunch of tools with this screen - a joke. If you are counting on using it, you will be disappointed. I'm sure it will work, but my god for $40 throw in some better tools.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • So far so good
