Works very well. I bought it for my elderly mother who had problems with her cell phone and didn't have a landline. It takes her back to a time when phones weren't that complicated and she could use them with ease. Salvation, now I can call her and check on her instead of always getting her cell phone voicemail because her cell phone somewhere in her bedroom has lost power. She'll never need her cell phone out of the house, so you can just leave it on. One in her bedroom, one in the living room. If the cellphone is ever removed from the VTech phone, I'll probably have to set it up again for them. The sound quality is really good and she hears me a lot better than she does on a cell phone. The ring tone is pleasant and loud and she can hear it well even with hearing loss. I would recommend it to anyone with cell phone issues or hearing problems without a backup land line. I might even buy one, cell phones still aren't as good as a good reliable landline when it comes to sound quality, so it would be nice if my cell phone connected to our landline.
