This backpack has everything you need for a day trip - fold up front with buckle and there is a 'hidden' pocket under the flap. I bought this backpack for an 80 mile bike ride and the straps were soft enough for my comfort and I wore it for about 7 hours that day. I continue to use it for shorter trips and am satisfied. The only criticism is the mouthpiece. it is strange. I figured I wouldn't like it before I bought it, so I just ordered a $9 CamelBak 90512 HydroLink conversion kit and left it at that. Even with the extra change, for such a large container size, it was still a lot cheaper than well-known brands like Camel Casserole. trust this brand and try it; You will not be disappointed. I would give this product a 4.5. The mouthpiece is sufficient as is, I'm just used to the camel pastry and preferred it, but I hated the price tag of the branded drinking pouch.
