Love My Lattes!: Spare parts and accessories for coffee and espresso machines

I bought this product with a new espresso machine. In all the years before I had an espresso machine, the foam spout was too maintenance-intensive for me, so I just heated the milk in the micro. With the purchase of this frothing jug I started using it as my new machine is easier to clean. This jug even comes with a mini stirrer that I can use to learn how to make foam - who needs a Starbucks in the age of COVID?!? The jug is available in 3 sizes. I chose the smallest - 12 oz. The next size, 20 ounces, might have prevented this, but would have been too big for my kitchen counter's coffee corner. I've found that adding too much milk causes excessive splattering and spilling, so I only add about 2 ounces of whole milk. Milk fat forms an excellent foam. Since I'm making 4 ounces of espresso and need more than 2 ounces of milk, I heat the milk in the micro to add the coffee and use the jug for a decorative foam topping. If I had to make a real latte I would make less coffee to get proportionate milk froth. If I were a purist I would probably learn how to pour frothed milk and then froth it. 2 ounces whole milk with foam up to 12 ounces so I'm still playing with proportions - it's only been a week! TIP: Once the milk is in the coffee, immediately soak the metal jug in warm, soapy water to make cleaning easier, as scalded milk is very difficult to remove and you don't want to scratch polished stainless steel with a metal scouring pad or scouring pad. Cold water on hot steel can damage the metal.
