I love these salt and pepper shakers and am very glad I have them. They match my kitchen cabinet doors perfectly. Someone mentioned (and I thought so) that the shaker can only produce a fine grind. However, this can be fixed, so I thought I'd mention it. There are two factors in the coarseness of the regrind. Screw on top first. If it's firm, the grind is fine. If you loosen it a little, the hole at the bottom will enlarge and a larger grind will fall out. Second, there is a plate at the bottom. If this plate is set too tight, the bottom cannot open very far. You only get a fine grind. One of my coffee grinders had this problem. This is the factory setting, but you can change it by slightly loosening these screws with an eyeglass screwdriver. If it's a bit loose, the hole can expand and larger particles can fall out. Of course, don't loosen them so much that the screws fall into the food you're cooking. That would be bad. Eventually, the ground spice will get stuck in the grinder, which means it will be difficult to set the fine grind when loaded with grist. For each spice, choose your desired grind level and plan to stick to it to avoid cleaning the grinder when changing settings. I think I understood what's going on, but the manufacturer can correct this information.
