**Update** received a free replacement and was asked to re-evaluate several times. For two weeks and possibly 2-3 applications, the screen only shows partial values. For some reason the numbers are only partially visible so I can't see the actual temperature. it could be 165, 155 or something else entirely. Don't let the high number of reviews fool you. I received this thermometer and it appears to have been used as the front was scratched when I removed it from the plastic. I was going to go back but decided to keep it because I need it. Now it's dead and won't turn on, even after trying an extra battery and one of my own batteries. I bought it in July and it took two months but I've used it less than 10 times. waste of money.
