Review on πŸ”₯ High-Performance Adafruit 1335 Peltier Thermoelectric Assembly for Superior Efficiency by Jared Winebrenner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ok - see pictures. Dear, it's been a week.

Here it is: heatsink+fan+peltier (tec1-12706?) + small piece of aluminum over the cold side of the peltier + foam insulation around the peltier + thermal paste. Together the pasta was a bit messy but that shouldn't matter. What it doesn't say is what TEC it uses, it looks like a tec1-12706 (Amazon has them) which fits the spec of 5-6 amps in the description, even though the description says 5 amps and 6 amps. It looks like they meant 5 amps but it can be boosted to 6 amps as the description says for 12706 by removing the screws and prying open the tech. Tek (Peltier) is held by the paste. So where I did this basic design by hand, it's faster. The only problem is that the price is a bit high. BOM per se: $4 - tec1-12706 (on Amazon goes up to $11) $11 - heatsink (more or less) $1 - piece of aluminum $0.02 - foam $0.05 - screws $8 - fan 12 at 80mm + grill $1 - thermal paste - $24, maybe less if they use the purchase amount. So the surcharge is about 2/3 of the item price, which seems a bit high even with the labor and shipping involved. It took me a week to receive it.
