I needed a tripod for my smartphone to take photos and videos on ebay, it does the job although it's not particularly durable and looks quite cheap. But calling it a selfie stick is REALLY far-fetched. Don't buy this if you are going to use it for this. Selfie sticks typically connect to your phone and have a built-in camera button on the end you hold, allowing you to hold your phone and take photos with one hand while freeing the other hand for other activities. It doesn't have that at all, you have to use a separate remote to activate it, *nor* hold onto that tripod, which is significantly heavier than any selfie stick I've used before, especially with today's big cell phones up to End. It's too bulky for me to ever use it that way.
