The pointed probe is very large and not very sharp. It leaves a big hole in the side of the wire when you try to feel the insulation. Also, the laced wire is VERY stiff, as is the alligator clip cover, making it difficult to use in tight or confined spaces. Sharpening the probe tip and replacing the wire and clamp is a more convenient tool. The light is clearly visible from all directions and the battery is easy to replace. The tool is not at a professional level, but it has a lower price. It's enough for home use, but nothing more.
