Well the packaging can be redesigned for body armor

I needed a simple continuity tester and here it is. Uses readily available AAA batteries, not weird ones. The instructions clearly show how to access it. The price is right, seems to be well made. The sound of a beeper would be nice along with the light. Hey in China. How many people have suffered severe blood loss trying to open a package of nuclear waste? Do people really steal the contents of a small package when the package itself is no longer difficult to steal? Dangerous and wasteful…

Very hard wire

The pointed probe is very large and not very sharp. It leaves a big hole in the side of the wire when you try to feel the insulation. Also, the laced wire is VERY stiff, as is the alligator clip cover, making it difficult to use in tight or confined spaces. Sharpening the probe tip and replacing the wire and clamp is a more convenient tool. The light is clearly visible from all directions and the battery is easy to replace. The tool is not at a professional level, but it has a lower price. It's

Does what it's supposed to do

I needed a simple continuity tester without having to pull out a multimeter and then measure and connect leads. I just wanted to grab something and look at it. It does. And the light is visible. The only thing I don't like. The alligator leather clip lives up to its name. You need a good strong set of fingers to open those jaws. I think it has more to do with the thickness of the plastic shield than the clip itself. I removed the screen and opened the clip much easier. But it's a reliable and…

Worked after some effort.

Works. I like the end of the probe which is quite sharp which makes it easier to get into small spots compared to my other tester which has a flat head probe. First there was a problem that it wasn't working. It turned out that the bulb was installed crookedly and had no contact with the battery. A little tweaking with a thin screwdriver solved the problem and all is well now. The packaging is PITA and if you don't open it carefully, the instructions on where and how to install the batteries…

First it didn't work, then it worked, now it doesn't work

My first review: It's a good tester but it didn't work right out of the blister pack. I found that the battery negative terminal soldered to the end of the wire was corroded and preventing contact. After I sanded it down with fine sandpaper, the tester worked perfectly. I used it today and it doesn't work at all; no flicker. I opened it up and checked all the contacts and everything looked fine. Changed batteries, still no joy. It's too late to return. This is an inferior production at best; at

Sperry Heavy Duty Continuity Tester stopped working need a new 6 BAC LIGHT

I really liked this Sperry Heavy Duty Continuity Tester when I received it. simple, easy to use, feels good in the hand but doesn't work the second time. I found that the lightbulb was burned out (I checked the ground wire on my trailer by the way). I had a project I needed to complete so I went out and bought a new lightbulb from Light Bulbs and Batteries. A new lightbulb costs $6.49. My tester works now. Let's see how long the new lamp lasts. If you really want a continuity tester that works…

Perfect design, perfect price, solid construction. I love it.

Essential for working with electronics. I bought it to determine and determine the continuity of the ABS system on my car. Within minutes I found two bad circuits (and was able to fix the problem). I'm sure many of you reading this have a multimeter that provides an audible continuity test, but I've had trouble using it in certain situations. This tool does one thing, but it does it very well. There's no audible indication of a full D circuit, but I find the light works great and isn't annoying

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
