I've researched this product ad nauseam. I read many reviews. We have an Artisan Kitchen Aid Mixer, so I was initially drawn to KA's product. My eye was drawn to the dishwasher, or lack thereof. The stainless steel option seemed like a good option even though it wasn't made by KA. I bought the GVODE brand with all the trimmings (over $100). Everything was metal except for the two pieces of black plastic used to make the sausage. The coffee grinder itself is made of thick stainless steel! I ground about 10# beef in a jiffy. It was easy to clean. I recommend you spend $100 and buy this product. The fact that KA manufactures aluminum is disappointing and should be avoided.
