Size reference

My opinion and size experience (review at the end): You want a tight fit (little resistance when connecting the hose). Measure the inside diameter of the part of the hose you want to connect it to. If this is not possible because you need to cut the hose and you cannot park the car for a few days, measure the outside diameter and subtract the wall thickness of the hose X2. Based on the measured tubing ID, select the closest size adapter (+2mm). You might be able to get away without growing a bit, but the yokes really should lower it, and while it might not leak, the seal isn't the best. USE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION, this is my personal recommendation based on my experience: My radiator hose was approximately 31.7mm ID and at the very least you should round that number up, so I ordered a 32mm adapter. Once installed it was the right size but didn't fit snugly and fell out easily with no clips. I was concerned about the sealing because you have to tighten the clamps so tight. I went with 34mm and it worked great. I could easily have used 36mm, but since my radiator hose wasn't new I left room to allow for the fact that my old hose was probably slightly flared. Good time to just replace the entire hose! Even if you need to shorten it depending on the application. Installation Overview: Installation was easy. You need to make a small ground wire to attach it to the car frame or engine from the small screw on the adapter. If you have some, you can use hose clamps that are slightly stronger than the clamps that come with them. I have used this with an aftermarket Bosch water temp sensor and sensor, using teflon tape on the sensor's threads before installing it into the adapter. I cut off a small section of the upper radiator hose (hot side with a razor blade) to install the adapter. I would install it as close to the engine water outlet as possible. After installation, ensure that none of the modified hoses are over the top of the radiator to prevent air from entering the system. One month after installation: Everything is perfect. Good product.
