Bug repellent seems to last 10-20 months. I have 4 arresters that I use at home and in the shop. The first failures are headlights, because the normal "ballast" produces too much electricity. Subsequent malfunctions are associated with the failure of the caps on the ballast plate. I had failed 2 of my arresters so I bought this and another type (same MFG) to fix them. Replace the standard ballast with this to try and extend life. Zapper So far they work great. I look forward to years of use with them. I'll update if/when they don't work.
