I bought this engine based on comments on non-OEM replacement engine forums. The instructions were easy to follow and there were lots of little touches that made installation easy. It's easy to retrofit a Maytag fridge with a piece of metal band bent almost to match the original. The fan blows vigorously so that the bottom of the compartment is now actually cooled down without having to heat up. The engine is louder than the original, but that should go without saying if you really want to get some real power out of it. At least we no longer wonder if it works or not. It's too early to tell if the Supco motor will survive the OEM part as we've only been using it for about a month, but having already gone through two OEMs in the last 7 years we remain hopeful. Also, the price was correct, around 15% of the original equipment cost.
