Review on πŸ”§ EAZ LIFT 48053 1000lbs Elite Bent Bar Weight Distribution Hitch: Adjustable Ball Mount & Shank Included by Tim Woods

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great item at Hitches

I bought this hitch because it didn't come with a stem (which is clearly stated in the description for those of you who write reviews about it) because I have one needed longer shaft than usually comes with these glitches. And of course there was no ball (also clearly stated), because everyone needs different ball sizes. I use it on my regular 95 Tacoma with the cab with leaf attachment and 16 foot tandem firewood trailer. . This works better than I expected. With brakes on both axles and this hitch, I'm pretty comfortable with the weight I'm carrying on my little truck. I'm sure I've read a lot of articles and watched a lot of videos on how to adjust the clutch for my truck and trailer and I can tell you it's a bit of a process. It's definitely doable if you have the big tools needed and it took me about an hour to set up and test to get it right. I had to use a 4" pipe to get the required torques. Edit: I'm currently using this with a 92 F250. I've definitely used it to its full potential (tongue weight 1000 pounds) and it works very well. This improves handling under high load and makes obstacles like speed bumps less of a nuisance. If you can't afford a gooseneck/fifth wheel hitch, this hitch is the best. I would like to stress again that it is very important to adjust it correctly (make sure the spring bars are parallel to the trailer tongue). Try to understand how it works and you will have an easier time setting it up. You will also need to raise the tongue about 4" above the ride height, lock the springs in place, and then take the weight of the Lower the trailer onto the spring bars.
