aquasafe water conditioner is a fantastic dechlorinator. I've been using this constantly since I started my small freshwater aquarium. Aquasafe works instantly when mixed with tap water. The water we get here in Southern California is hard and contains chlorine. I've taken the water to the pet shop to be tested a few times and test it at home with tetra strips every few weeks and it does an excellent job of keeping the chlorine levels near zero. Makes water changes easier and more importantly, helps fish (I have water/oxygen sensitive measles) and neon tetras (not hardy freshwater fish) who did great with this water conditioner. 5 Stars! It can also control pH well, as tests also show near neutral pH.
