I wonder why the people who developed vStrom didn't think of something so useful and necessary for drivers who like to keep their phone or GPS within sight. This cross bar runs just above the dashboard and fits well with most phone holders. You need to find the right position to mount the phone/GPS holder so that it doesn't block some important display elements on the dashboard. You'll notice this when you install the phone holder, but it's easy to work with. I am happy with this purchase. Even if it took me a month.
