Update: They made changes to their tool to make it stronger.

Update (5 stars): The supplier emailed me many times about problems I had, he said he updated the tool he supplied. They sent me an updated tool. For my test, this is a round bar with forged box ends that is significantly stronger than the original bar I received with this kit. It's likely that my experience would have been better had I used this new tool. I appreciate the follow up I received from this supplier. Read my original post for tips and lessons learned from my project. Original post: It was a terrible process (3 stars) to hold the bend. I'm worried that I'll have to use a hammer to get them back in place. Some tricks I figured out halfway through: Only do one wire at a time, if you do more you won't have enough room to make a turn. I used the drill bit they used to pre-drill but I still had problems. After pre-drilling the holes, I used one of the spade lugs to tap the threads, put one in my screwdriver and used it to tap the threads (make sure to use the left eye for the left and the right for). the right). Don't cut the same threads on both sides.) After that, it became much easier. The ring tool was very poor and I didn't have a ring wrench small enough so I used a mini crescent wrench. I would buy it again if I followed these steps to install. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • This railing hardware accepts railing system cables with an OD of 1/8 inch. The threaded screws are for wood/wooden frames. They twist the cable in the same direction, which solves the problem of twisting the connected wire. Left and right cause problems and can damage the cable
Cons
  • Poor manual
