Read the fine print with this thing. If you want it to output power through the docking station's built-in cable, which allows you to connect the docking station to your laptop/tablet, etc. Do you know the Thunderbolt 3 power adapter that comes with your MacBook? It's only 30 watts. So unlike any other USB-C dock, you can't just use your laptop's power bank, plug it into the dock, and then plug the dock into this machine. You'll likely need to purchase a separate 60W charger to power this dock. Where does this extra power go? Surprises me because you don't get power from the USB-A ports. So you can't charge anything other than a connected laptop through this docking station. *USB-A ports do not supply power.* Additionally, monitors connected via HDMI will turn off whenever your computer screen goes to sleep. So if you're inactive for a while and your display turns off, you'll have to physically disconnect and reconnect the dock for the external monitor to wake up again. I tried contacting Belkin Technical Support. Chat support won't help you because they let you know they're not trained to support docks - you'll have to call. I tried calling for hours only to get disconnected and literally hung up every time I tried to bring up the menu. I went back to the support chat to try and get help and even contacted the right support people and finally found a workaround along the way and was able to contact the person. But in the end the support person I spoke to couldn't do anything for me because this dock is as bad as it looks. You really are better off getting one of those unnamed $30 USB-C docks. Yes, you sacrifice Thunderbolt 3 speed, but I've had a much better experience with connected monitors, charging USB-A devices, and more *does what you'd expect a dock to do* for about 1/5 the price. — and in a much more travel-resistant body. As soon as I publish this review I will order one of these. UPDATE: As mentioned, I ordered a $30 USB-C dock right after this review was published. I am much happier with the cheaper product. Save yourself money and hassle.
