I love doing tech reviews and if you enjoy looking at reviews before you buy products, check out my OndaWire YouTube and Facebook channel where I do a lot of tech reviews. I love Belkin products and was looking for a docking station that would give me the power and connectivity I needed. I saw this Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Core and said let's do it. I tested this for almost a month and here is my review. Pros: 1. I have found Belkin to be a top resource when I need products. They simply make quality products and the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock is another example of a great product. This dock actually features a USB-A 3.2 connector, which is the latest USB-A technology of 2019 and allows you to transfer up to 20GB of data per second. This is absolutely insane! YUP! 3. I love the dual monitor 4K @ 60GHz. Picture quality at the highest level.4. This Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Core is plug and play. You do NOT need to download any drivers or anything like that. Just plug it into any Thunderbolt 3 enabled device and it works. ***NOTE*** This only works with Thunderbolt 3 devices. Therefore, before purchasing, make sure your device supports Thunderbolt 3.5. I've used internet speed through the gigabyte ethernet port and got over 950MB each time. It was cool! Cons: 1. I wish the cord was a bit longer. It's 6.8 inches long, so I almost had to lower the laptop stand to the bare minimum so it could reach the USB-C port. I've added an image to show what I mean.2. I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro and it takes 96W to turn on and it only puts out 60W. One of the things I noticed in use is the docking station: when I do a lot of editing and playing videos, the battery tends to drain. be discharged and not remain fully charged. A few times I actually had to unplug the charger and plug it directly into the MacBook.3. I would like the body of this docking station to indicate which USB-A port is 3.2 and which is 2.0. I really can't tell, so I'll just switch between them. Overall, I like this Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Core. It performs exactly as I expected and I'm definitely giving it 4.5***** stars. The ultra-short cable and 60W PD are the reason I didn't give it 5***** stars. If you're looking for a docking station, remember that it only works with Thunderbolt 3 devices. It doesn't work with devices other than Thunderbolt 3. While this didn't get a perfect five-star rating, I still highly recommend it. , if the two or three cons I listed are important or not.
