This is one of the least used but absolutely essential accessories. I've never had to drill holes in steel railroad tracks... with a hand drill... but if I did it would take some time and coolant but they would get the job done. Drilling standard holes in steel switch boxes, etc. for wiring when no knockout hole is nearby. Recently I was able to use them to install an HVAC accessory in a sheet metal plenum when I realized I had lost them. I have had this set for over 20 years. Then they magically disappeared. or, more likely, I left it in someone's attic. No matter when I looked for the kit, it was nowhere to be found. I needed a replacement. Upon arrival, the kit was severely overloaded in the supply chain. The beats were thrown into a metal box from thick foam shadow boxes. Luckily the center drills had a protective cap to prevent chipping. The box itself is immaculate, which must have been the case with the container. As the set survived, it speaks volumes for packaging engineers. My rule #632 - If the packaging is well thought out down to the smallest detail, then you can rely on the product. quality set. Much better than expected. A worthy replacement for my lost set.
