Review on ๐ŸŽง Enhanced Communication Experience with Plantronics Savi 740 Wireless Headset System by Chris Shepherd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great headset and great value, refurbished/used

RRP on them is around 450. New, still in the 250-300 range in many places so get a refurbished/used in one of these clean and usable condition for $100?!? MARVELOUS! That's not to say it's perfect, the actual earbud when resting in the stand is sometimes not perfectly aligned and if you don't catch it can leave you with a dead headset from not making good charging contact. There is a replacement side panel (about $50) that adapts to charge the secondary battery and contains the battery. I bought these to replace a *wired* headset provided by the company that just couldn't work properly because it wasn't amplified (nor had noise cancellation). I've been using headsets in tech support for almost 22 years, where Plantronics is the de facto standard. Fonts vary and in many cases can be subjective. Ditto if you buy a kit that doesn't work out-of-the-box or fails prematurely while others have no issues to report (product quality/durability/etc.). So this headset was ideal for me. Box except for the loading issue mentioned above which is a common issue I've had before. I've changed my behavior to be very aware of when the charge light doesn't come on and the range is as below, but that's an acceptable trade-off. The base unit is equipped with volume controls for separate speaker or microphone amplification. Additional options are set with the slider to ensure compatibility with different handsets. The base works either in parallel with the handset or via the "headset" connector if your phone has one. The range of Plantronics is not as good as you might think. I'm sure that in an upright position/low walled cubic ledge you can get a range of 300 feet in an open space, but in a home office or office building with lots of walls your signal won't get that far. usually. Therein lies the advantage of a wireless headset. no wires from phone to head. I've seen and had an instance or two of nasty soda and coffee spills because the drink and wire didn't match. So the only way out is wireless. Do you have a base station that supports Bluetooth, a headset or a connection to a PC/USB? These are the options that turn a good renovation experience into a great purchase! The service from KC Phone Guys was top notch! Including the headset was sent almost immediately, and the USB cable was sent separately as it was not available at the moment. They included a printed copy of the quick start guide (they could have saved some paper by printing a double-sided one), new ear gels and a headband. Excellent delivery, communication and product. Thank you KC Phone Guys!
