I'm always skeptical about large purchases, and this one was no exception. I read almost all the reviews on the internet before deciding that this is the best choice. The reviews were true. This lens is just fantastic! Each of my older brothers has a Canon Rebel XTi and a Nikon D60. They both have lenses with the same zoom range and aperture as this one, but they were both very impressed when they tried it. Even compliments on how he felt better than her (certainly not her type). I have directly compared identical scene shots between these lenses/cameras and this and my e-510 and the difference is always clear. This lens consistently delivers clearer, brighter images. When people say they don't shoot with this lens all the time, it's a given. The zoom range is ideal for everyday shots. But when you add in a low aperture and fast focus (along with a great price), then it's definitely not something you want to keep in your pocket. I'm sure not! I love this lens. This is another reason to buy an Olympus DSLR.
