The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

In general, the lens on DSLRs is excellent and the picture from it always pleases the eye =) Having screwed 14-54 to modern Olympus MFT devices, everything is not as fun as on DSLRs, the lack of contrast focus makes itself felt immediately even on E M1 =( Even the old whale 4/3, 14-42 works two times faster on the MFT and is not much inferior in sharpness to F5.6 You shouldnโ€™t even think about video at 14-54, the second version 14-54 II with support for contrast focus is no longer so sharpโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Fast, contrasty and sharp at all distances
Cons
  • Heavy and expensive

The best thing I've ever used, I recommend it to everyone!

In general, this lens is a solid advantage; there are no analogues of such glass on other systems. I recommend both DSLRs and mirrorless cameras (via an adapter). Excellent sharpness, which, unlike Zuiko 12-60, does not spoil the artistic drawing. The wide range of focal lengths makes it an excellent standard lens. The minimum focusing distance is only 20 cm - almost a macro lens! I have the second version of this glass, with contrast focus support, and on my E-pl1 the focusing speed is quiteโ€ฆ

Pros
  • -Sharpness at all focal lengths even wide open -Beautiful drawing - Aperture -Contrast and color reproduction -Universal focal lengths - Dustproof construction
Cons
  • Alas, it is no longer produced.

Very good lens.: lenses

I sent this one back because I found a cheaper one elsewhere, but just to continue the review, Olympus are known for their good lenses and this one is no exception. It's weatherproof (originally shipped with the Olympus E-1 DSLR) and very sharp. I use it with my Olympus E-510 and it replaced a 14-42mm kit lens.

Excellent lens that competes with the newer 14-54mm lens (II)

I bought this lens from Revain Market Place two months ago for use on an Olympus E-3. I've also had a newer version of the lens for a few years and use it on other E-3s and E-620s (all bought from Revain). The old lens focuses just as quickly as the new one and both lenses have the same sharpness. Each lens is a great upgrade to a 14-42mm kit lens for a 4/3 camera, but the old version can be bought for less than half the price of the new version. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Frequency

I bought this lens together with my Olympus E-330 SLR. The camera featured a Zuiko 18-180mm superzoom. I wanted to make sure I had a faster, sharper lens when needed. I was not disappointed. I'm an old Nikon user and have been unimpressed by the design of many recent digital lenses. The processing of many new lenses is cheap. This lens is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The images are very clear for a zoom with its range, and the built-in 4/3s system is very convenient forโ€ฆ

Don't own it yet?

I'm always skeptical about large purchases, and this one was no exception. I read almost all the reviews on the internet before deciding that this is the best choice. The reviews were true. This lens is just fantastic! Each of my older brothers has a Canon Rebel XTi and a Nikon D60. They both have lenses with the same zoom range and aperture as this one, but they were both very impressed when they tried it. Even compliments on how he felt better than her (certainly not her type). I haveโ€ฆ

  • The best

  • There are some nuances

Olympus 14-54 f/2.8-3.5 Zuiko ED lens for E-1, E300 and E500 DSLRs

All factory papers. The glass is in perfect condition and generally lives up to the reputation of Olympus lenses. Compared to the "standard" zoom that comes with the camera, this is amazing. since the best standard 1: 3.5-5.6 zoom can be opened wide. I'm an affordable light shooter of choice and the extra bezels are a blessing! The Standard 14-45 left a gap between its full zoom and my other lens' lowest setting. Although the 90mm f/2.0 prime was my favorite f/2.0 prime when shooting at 35mmโ€ฆ
