This has been my go-to wireless adapter (ASUS products have always worked great for me). However, my experience with the card was just awful! Send it back a few days later - 5 stars for Revain's customer service and return policy! That's why I gave it a star - it's actually quite simple, IT DID NOT WORK AND THE SPEED WAS GREAT: 1) Easy to Install: To compliment ASUS, the card was very easy to set up, just plugging it into the PCI -e slot on motherboard ASUS motherboard - ASUS LGA 1155 motherboard Intel Z68 DDR3 2200 SATA 6Gb/s & USB 3.0 ATX P8Z68-V and finished the build and installed and booted Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 Pack the system for the first time, and the card was recognized immediately. I didn't need to install drivers, but I updated all drivers later. I just had to enter the password to encrypt my home network and it connected to the network instantly! - Simply that way! Therefore 5 stars for it and I am very satisfied with the product so far! 2) Signal Strength: Signal strength has always been excellent as shown in my system tray. My laptop, which is also wirelessly connected to the same router and network, worked fine from the same desk as the desktop, so that didn't surprise me at all! But that didn't help, as you'll see below - under Speed! 3) Transfer speed: The product failed miserably here as it was connected to the Internet with excellent signal strength. I started downloading updates and drivers almost immediately when I realized the transfer speeds were next to nothing! It also took Google a long time to load the homepage! I went to speedtest.net and checked the speed and the DL ran at 0.23Mbps, it's a joke! So I thought something was wrong with the network/router or that there was some kind of interference so I checked the speed on my laptop which as mentioned was using the same home network wirelessly from the same desk and speedtest.net got the results on the laptop, DL @ 4.5 Mbps was what I expected! I have Comcast as my ISP and the wired ethernet connection is in the 28-32 Mbps range, but the wireless connection has always been much slower, but at least 3 Mbps. I tested my other wireless media devices, ROKU 2 XS, Google TV, PS3, etc. They all worked normally and streamed media wirelessly, which (if possible) at 0.23Mbps speeds would be extremely frustrating! So I isolated the problem from the desktop connection, now I still don't believe it's a PCI-e card. I thought it would be something different, but in the end I decided to try another adapter, this time I chose the USB adapter - WL ADPT ROSEWILL RNX-N180UBE USB RETAIL, and when it arrived a few days later, stuck I hooked it up, installed drivers and immediately saw faster speeds, still not great but definitely better! So 0 stars for the speed! 4) Reliability: That was nonsense too, to give you an idea, I started downloading the MS Office suite which is a 650mb file along with all the windows updates and other downloadable drivers which was the expected time 18 hours when i started it and i left it overnight and checked it the next morning and it was only 32% done and the man of windows update failed and when i looked for the error code it said im Reasons that the error was due to no internet! So I'm pretty sure the connection was intermittent at best and patchy most of the time! Keep in mind that there was no other high-bandwidth activity happening on other devices on my home network at the time, so all available bandwidth had to be dedicated to the desktop, and yet it had terrible speeds! 0 stars for reliability! So overall it was a bad buy for me, it didn't work as intended at all, the card's terrible transfer speed and patchy wireless connection prevented me from giving it a rating above 1 star! I used the Roweill USB adapter for over a week and finally returned it when I discovered the powerline ethernet adapters - bought a few - NETGEAR XAVB101 Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit and hooked them up to my network and they worked like a charm, speed The DL on my desktop is 24Mbps, yes that's 100x better (literally) than this card! So here is my experience, I would not recommend this product at all!
